The Red Planet.

The Red Planet. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Mars is a small red spot in the dark dark Space. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and the smallest planet in the solar system.

It seems almost impossible to go to mars. We would have to stay in space for about 8 months. Then while landing there would be no emergency crew to come help us if something goes wrong. Mars’ atmosphere is mainly made up of carbon dioxide which we all know, is not a survivable condition for humans. Even if the landing goes well, a lot of other problems follow it. Like, maintaining a proper source of water, food, oxygen and all the basic necessities. A lot of plans have been made by various organisations for the survival of humans on mars. But the chances of things going wrong are very high.

So is it worth the risk? Is it worth going to Mars? Well, the answer to this question depends from person to person. But according to me, going to Mars, is the only way to save the human race from extinction. Earth is exposed to a lot to danger and anything can happen any second which can destroy Earth. But, if humans are on two different planets then the chances of extinction are very less. Some might say that going to a place which is not made for us is not right. It is against nature and it can backfire. Which is also true. But does it mean, we don’t try?

NatGeo has a DocuDrama named ‘Mars’ and it talks about challenges we face now, while preparing to go to Mars and the challenges we might face once we reach there. I highly recommend watching it if you are interested in this subject.
